The True STG1DTA-2HS-HC refrigerator freezer’s condenser is top mounted to increase storage space and maintain cooler temperatures than bottom-mounted refrigeration systems. It features two sections—a top-mounted freezer and refrigerated bottom—which have independent, self-contained capillary tube systems to distribute chill evenly. It uses R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant to minimize environmental impact, and for efficiently reducing energy consumption, the condenser and evaporator fans are electronically commutated. This evaporator is epoxy coated to withstand corrosion long term, and it’s placed outside of the food zone to maximize storage space. An integral time-initiated and time-terminated defrost system automatically controls the development of ice buildup by delaying the evaporator fan in cyclical intervals.

To adequately chill produce and dairy products while freezing desserts, the bottom section generates temperatures between 33 and 38 degrees Fahrenheit, and the top cools to -10 degrees Fahrenheit; these temperatures can be monitored using the independent digital thermostats. Foamed-in-place polyurethane insulation lines the walls to maintain set temperatures and reduce energy consumption. Each section comes with three wire shelves finished with PVC coating to reduce corrosion risk. So staff can view the stored contents with ease, the interior is illuminated with LED lighting.

Designed to withstand rigorous use in busy kitchens, the True STG1DTA-2HS-HC refrigerator/freezer’s doors, floor, and ceiling are constructed of stainless steel, and for enhanced corrosion resistance, the interior side walls and back are made of aluminum. Two solid doors are attached to the front with external cam-lift hinges, featuring heavy-duty metal handles and bolt-style door locks for after-hours security. These doors are self-closing to reduce thermal escape, and when extended access is required, they can be propped open at a 120-degree angle. One-piece door gaskets further seal in cold temperatures and can be removed for cleaning or replacement. Overall, this unit measures 27¹⁄₂ inches wide by 35¹⁄₄ inches deep by 84¹⁄₈ inches high. It’s mounted on four plate castors to ease transportation as needed—two of these castors feature locking brakes to hold the unit in place.
