The Koolaire KDT0420W/K420 ice machine with bin can produce 457 pounds of ice in 24 hours if ambient air is 70 degrees Fahrenheit and incoming water is 50 degrees Fahrenheit. The unit has a water-cooled condenser, meaning water flows over the refrigerant coils, cooling the evaporator plate so ice will form from the water running over it. Perfect for restaurants and bars, the ice machine makes full-cube ice that melts slowly and takes up space in drinkware.
Components in the ice machine’s food zone come in contact with ice and water, so they need to be cleaned often. Since these parts are white, users can easily see when cleaning is needed. Their plastic construction adds corrosion resistance, and some of the components are removable to simplify cleaning. Users can conveniently access the parts behind the lift-off door and by removing two screws.
An ice scoop comes with the bin, and an internal holder prevents its handle from contacting ice and causing contamination. Users can easily scoop ice since the bin door has a stay-open design.
