In ideal conditions, the Hoshizaki DCM-500BWH countertop nugget ice maker can produce 590 pounds of ice per day. Its nugget ice is favored by many because it is soft and chewable, and this unit can store 40 pounds of it, so ice is always available when needed. This unit is operated with two push buttons—one for ice and one for water—and it is designed for countertop use, while a stand can be purchased if necessary.
This Hoshizaki DCM-500BWH countertop ice maker self-cleans every 20 minutes to remove any impurities that could tarnish the ice. The exterior can be cleaned swiftly because it is made of wipeable stainless steel, while the interior is protected from bacteria using H-GUARD Plus antimicrobial agent. Because the unit is self-contained, the potential for cross-contamination is reduced.
