Shipping and Delivery Policy

Prior to dispatch, all products are safeguarded with insurance coverage. Major shipping companies offer complimentary insurance up to a specified limit to protect against unforeseen events. Customers and the shipping service will manage any damage claims. Chefandbeyond.com bears no liability once goods depart from our or the manufacturer’s facility. Nonetheless, we will provide support with claim documentation.

Typically, items leave our warehouse within 5 business days after payment clearance, often sooner. You will receive notification and a tracking number when your order is dispatched. With this tracking number, you can obtain updates directly from the shipping company.

Goods are generally dispatched from our manufacturer’s warehouse within 3 days. However, out-of-stock items may require up to 4 weeks for dispatch, and delays may occur due to current supply chain constraints. Should this happen, we will inform you of the anticipated dispatch date and follow up with tracking details once the order is en route.

Standard item packaging involves securing the merchandise on a pallet with straps, shrink wrap, bubble wrap, and appropriate labels. Additional crating or boxing is not included in standard packaging but can be provided for an extra fee.

Deliveries are made to the curbside, and it is the purchaser’s responsibility to move items from there to the intended location. Delivery personnel are not obligated to assist with unloading.

Purchases shipped within Tennessee will incur a 9.25% sales tax.

Shipping Time: Notification of the estimated shipping duration is communicated via email, text, or phone following order confirmation.

 

Shipping Cost: The shipping fee for each item is visible at the point of checkout. Note that shipping charges vary based on the item’s freight class.

Occasionally, certain addresses may be classified as residential despite being business locations, affecting shipping costs. Any such changes will be communicated to the purchaser and reflected accordingly.

For addresses deemed to have limited access, extra charges may be incurred.

 

Free Shipping: We offer complimentary ground shipping on a select range of categories and products marked as “Free Shipping” within the contiguous United States. For further information, please contact us.

Please note that free shipping does not cover additional services such as lift-gate assistance or inside delivery, nor does it apply to special conditions such as expedited shipping.

 

Shipping Address: To ensure exceptional service delivery, kindly review the following details:

 

Delivery is not available to residential or PO Box addresses.

Confirm the accuracy of your shipping address.

Pre-Delivery Notification: Requesting a “pre-delivery notification” means the carrier will typically contact you to schedule a delivery 24 hours in advance. Please note, this service may incur an additional charge. Address Modification: Should there be a need to modify the delivery address, be advised that this will affect the shipping fees and incur additional charges by the carrier. We will notify you of any additional costs via text or email.

 

Redelivery Fee: Be informed that unsuccessful deliveries will attract a redelivery fee.

 

Order Splitting: Orders with multiple items may be divided into separate shipments due to inventory fluctuations, varying item locations, or specific customer requests. This means you may receive your items in different packages across several days. For more details, please get in touch with us.

 

Expedited Shipping: Products marked with “Quick Shipping” are eligible for expedited delivery. For more information, please contact us.

Lift-Gate Service: Due to the weight of many purchased items, a lift-gate may be necessary. If your facility lacks a loading dock or trailer access, please reach out to our sales team for a quotation. It is important to note that the delivery drivers are not responsible for the offloading of equipment from the truck.

 

Delivery

Chef and Beyond possesses a fleet of delivery vehicles, servicing the Middle TN region routinely. We have also extended our delivery services to other states including GA, KY and AL,  particularly for substantial orders. Opting for this delivery method could be more advantageous than conventional shipping for large orders. We encourage you to discuss your delivery needs in detail with our Sales Representatives.

Upon receiving your delivery, promptly inspect all items for any signs of damage, loss, or missing parts before the delivery personnel departs. Resist any pressure to expedite this process.

Ensure the presence of all boxes, particularly those containing equipment and components.

Thoroughly examine each piece of equipment from top to bottom once the boxes are opened.

In the event of extensive damage to your order, refrain from signing any documents and reject the delivery. Instead, document the damage with photographs, make detailed notes, and reach out to us immediately to initiate the return process.

 

Should you discover any damage, such as dents, scratches, creases, or punctures during your inspection:

 

– Capture photographic evidence.

– Record the specifics on the delivery note.

– For any missing or lost parts, note the precise name of the missing component.

– Retain your copy of the delivery note/receipt.

– Preserve all packaging materials from the damaged items.

– Request a damage assessment from the delivery company.

Prior to dispatch, we diligently inspect all merchandise in our own or the manufacturer’s warehouse; however, transit may still result in harm. It’s crucial that any damage observed upon delivery is recorded on the delivery bill before signing, enabling us to seek reimbursement from the carrier. On the other hand, if the receipt is signed without noting any damage, we’re unable to assure compensation for the damage identified later.

Important Advisory for Refrigeration Equipment:

It is imperative that refrigeration equipment, which includes a compressor, Freon, and oil, be moved strictly in an upright position. If tilted, there is a risk of oil seeping into the cooling system, potentially rendering the unit inoperative. Customers who opt to transport a refrigeration unit in any orientation other than upright assume full responsibility for the possibility of the unit failing to operate upon connection. For those planning to collect multiple items or large orders from our warehouse, please inform us beforehand.

 

Attention: Our warehouse capacity is limited, and unshipped or uncollected items will incur a storage fee if not claimed within 10 days. This fee amounts to $40.00 per item, per month, and must be settled in total prior to the release of any goods from our premises.
