The Koolaire KDT0500A/K570 ice maker with bin has an air-cooled condenser, meaning refrigerant in the condenser coils is cooled with fan-circulated air. When the refrigerant is cooled, it chills the evaporator plate, freezing water as it moves on the plate to form cubes. It makes 0.875-inch-by-0.875-inch-by-0.875-inch, full-cube ice, which is ideal for restaurants and bars, and it produces as much as 515 pounds of ice in 24 hours.
Parts in the ice machine head that contact ice or water are located in the food zone. This area is accessible, and some of these components are removable to facilitate cleaning. Made of corrosion-resistant plastic, the components are durable, and since they are white, users can see when they need to be cleaned.
The storage bin can hold 532 pounds of ice. Insulated with foam, the door is durable and retains cold air to slow melting. When users are scooping ice, the door stays open automatically. An 82-ounce ice scoop comes with this Koolaire KDT0500A/K570 ice maker with bin, while a holder in the bin keeps the scoop out of the ice to prevent contamination from the unsanitary handle. On the exterior of the machine head and bin, the stainless steel-like finish resists corrosion and smudges.
